Schaeffler collaborates with NVIDIA to drive intelligent manufacturing innovation and build a global digital factory network
Recently, Schaeffler, a well-known German manufacturer of precision machinery and electronic systems, announced a technology cooperation agreement with Nvidia, a leading enterprise in the fields of artificial intelligence and graphic computing. Both parties will engage in deep collaboration around industrial digitization to assist Schaeffler in achieving intelligent upgrades of its production bases worldwide and creating a manufacturing system for the future.
According to the cooperation agreement, Schaeffler will introduce the NVIDIA Omniverse platform to develop virtual models of factory equipment and optimize production processes using AI simulation technology. This platform has powerful real-time collaboration and physical simulation capabilities, which can help enterprises complete production line testing and parameter adjustment before actual deployment, thereby improving efficiency and reducing costs.
Schaeffler plans to integrate over half of its global factories into the Omniverse platform in the coming years. At present, the company has started deploying relevant technologies in some pilot factories to explore intelligent operation and maintenance models based on digital twins.
We are accelerating our transition to intelligent manufacturing, "said Andreas Hick, Chief Operating Officer of Schaeffler Group." Through our partnership with NVIDIA, we will integrate data resources from over 100 production bases worldwide, build a unified digital platform, and achieve full process visualization management from design to execution
With the Omniverse platform, Schaeffler is able to perform high-precision modeling and simulation of multiple key processes, including material properties and processing techniques. Even highly complex assembly tasks, such as fully automated installation of seals, can be optimized through AI algorithms. In addition, the platform also supports the application of cutting-edge technologies such as humanoid robots, laying the foundation for future flexible production lines.
Rev Lebaredian, Vice President of Omniverse and Simulation Technology at NVIDIA, said, "The manufacturing industry is at a critical stage of transitioning to data-driven operations. The concept of 'simulation first' is becoming mainstream, and the Omniverse is an important tool to achieve this goal. ”
Roberto Henkel, Senior Vice President of Operations Digitalization and IT at Schaeffler Group, stated, "This collaboration not only helps us build a more realistic digital twin system, but also provides new possibilities for our development in the industrial metaverse field. We look forward to working with NVIDIA to continuously improve platform functionality and bring value to the entire industry
This cooperation marks an important progress in Schaeffler's intelligent manufacturing strategy and reflects its determination to continue investing in the global high-end manufacturing field. In the future, the company will continue to strengthen collaborative innovation with leading technology enterprises, continuously improve the intelligence level of production systems, and enhance market competitiveness.
